The Application Process
How the Process Works
Our application process is designed to be straightforward and accessible for students and families.

Confirm that the student meets the basic eligibility requirements. See the FAQs for more details.

Complete the appropriate online application form - new or renewing.

Referrals should be able to speak to the child’s talent and motivation for music lessons.
Referrals must be completed by a music teacher and/or another non‑parent adult, as applicable.
Ex #1: one classroom teacher, one music teacher
Ex #2: one knowledgable non-parent adult, one classroom teacher
Renewing Scholars must only provide a recommendation from their current Prep Program instructor

Applications are reviewed by the Pratt Music Foundation Board Members.

Applicants will be notified of decisions after the review process is complete.
Application Types
Please select the application that applies to you. Each application and recommendation is submitted separately.
New Applicant
For students applying for a Pratt Music Foundation scholarship for the first time.
New Applicant Recommendation
For music teachers or non‑parent adults submitting a recommendation for a new applicant.
Renewing Scholar
For current or past scholarship recipients applying for continued support.
Renewing Scholar Recommendation
For teachers submitting a recommendation for a renewing applicant.
