Prepare the Essay Response
The application includes an applicant essay question
We strongly recommend that applicants write and prepare their essay response in advance using a separate document (such as Google Docs or Word) before beginning the application form
This will help ensure thoughtful, complete responses
Essay Question Requirement
Applicants should prepare a response of at least 3–5 sentences for the essay question
New Scholar Essay Question: In your own words: Why are music lessons in this instrument important to you?
Renewing Scholar Essay Question: Please share some highlights of what you have learned this past year about playing your instrument and about yourself as a musician.
Application Submission Process
You cannot save progress and return later. The application must be completed in one sitting.
At the end of the application, applicants will have the option to select a toggle to receive a copy of their responses by email. Be sure to select this option if you would like a record of your submission.
